Incredibly alluring, pleasantly boisterous and wreathed in clouds - Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is one of the most popular hill stations in India. Lying at the height of 1650 m above sea level, the town during its bright sunny days offers spectacular views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Gangtok is a base for adventure enthusiasts comprising of trekkers and campers to the Himalayan mountain ranges. Dzongri Trek, Varsey/Barsey Trek, and Tholung Trek are among the most popular treks departing from Gangtok.

North Sikkim Tourism- In north Sikkim tourism,The famous places in this area include Kabi Longtsok, Singhik, Mangan, Phodong Monastery, Lachen and Chugthang Monastery. Eastern Sikkim Tourism- The attractions of this area include Deer Park, Government Institute of Cottage Industry, Hanuman Tok etc. Southern Sikkim Tourism- In this part, the most attractive views can be spotted in places like Tendong Hill, Namchi, Temi Tea garden and Ravangla. Western Sikkim Tourism- The main attractions of this part include Tashiding Monastery, Gyalshing, Permayangtse Monastery etc.

Local Sightseeing
Gangtok is also a Buddhist Pilgrimage centre after completion of Enchey Monastery. Other then Enchay Monastery, Sikkim hosts numerous other monasteries of religious importance. Among them, Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre (Rumtek Monastery) is the most prominene at a distance of 24 Kms from Gangtok. Gangtok also is a centre of year round flower exhibition at White Hall. Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, city view from Gangtok Rope way, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Ban Jhakri Falls, Ranka Monastery are among other tourist attractions in Gangtok.
